While the Red Chair was staying at the Blue Spruce Bed and Breakfast in Sisters, Oregon, the innkeepers were sharing with Red some of their favorite things to do in the area. One of which was a trip to the Dee Wright Observatory which was located only 15 miles from Blue Spruce! This observatory was built of Lava rock and offers stunning panoramic views of the Cascade Mountain Peaks. Located within the Willamette National Forrest this attraction does not disappoint and is worth the visit!

On the way back to the inn, Red discovered what would now be considered a rare find these days. The Red Chair happened upon a working phone booth! Red of course had to give it a spin and call home to tell us about its fantastic time at the Blue Goose Inn on Whidbey Island so far as well as taking a picture with the old phone booth. Although it does not transport you to different time periods, space travel nor does it bring you into the Ministry of Magic, this rare specimen does make a phone call!
When the Red Chair visited the Greenlake Guest House Bed and Breakfast in Seattle, Washington it was quite excited to explore more of this gorgeous city. Little could it have imagined to find the old site of a Gasworks Factory to be one of the most interesting places it has seen! Gasworks Park is located on nearby Lake Union. The "gasworks" were used in the early 1900's to convert coal into gas, and were developed into a park in the 1970's. The remains of the factory are now art and the site is a popular location for picnics and kite flying. Also from this park you can enjoy a gorgeous view of downtown Seattle from the beach. Such a unique place and it was so much fun to explore the many different structures!
While the Red Chair was visiting the innkeepers of the Meritage Meadows Inn it over heard the fascinating history of nearby Snoqualmie Falls one evening. A natural waterfall that has drawn all kinds of people for literally hundreds of years was definitely a place the Red Chair had to see while it was in Redmond, Washington. Check out more about this beautiful place here!
The innkeepers of the Three Tree Point Bed and Breakfast decided the Red Chair needed to experience the fantastic music scene of Seattle, Washington. After dinner and a stop at Jazz Alley, Red and Innkeeper Penny walked into the Royal Room to find a local band called The Jelly Rollers playing some great music! After a few minutes they noticed the Red Chair and asked Red to assist them on stage, to which the Red Chair replied, "Of course!" Check out The Jelly Rollers below! |
