Rock Hall Luxe Lodging
June 17-19th, 2013
Stop Number 4
When the Red Chair was first asked, what it was going to do in Colebrook, CT? Red wasn't too sure. Red knew it was a beautiful area but upon arrival it was even better than Red imagined! The Rock Hall Luxe Lodging had gardens and orchards to walk through and the Red Chair's favorite thing, a heated pool at a comfortable 75 degrees! Amazing food and music along with spectacular hospitality from Innkeepers Michael and Stella Somers is what the Red Chair experienced through out it's entire stay!
Silas W. Robbins House
June 14-16th, 2013
Stop number 3
The Red Chair had a fantastic time visiting the Silas W. Robbins House! Innkeepers John and Shireen Aforismo made sure to show the Red Chair all of the best parts about Wethersfield, CT including the Mark Twain House, Elizabeth Park, and the amazing Historic District's downtown shops, farm stands, and local cemetery too! After a long day Red was treated to the best room in the inn -- the Silas W. Robbins room and in the morning woke up to the infamous Stuffed French Toast! The Red Chair had a splendid time visiting the area and would absolutely love to go back!
Mountainview Inn, Norfolk CT
Oh, to while away the days in a small New England town at the height of foliage season! The colors are sublime, especially when contrasted with the still-green grass. The Mountainview Inn is across the street from the Yale Summer School of Music and Art, a highly prestigious program that brings great artists to the area, year after year. Innkeepers Dean and Jean Marie share their own passions for art and collectible antique clothing in this charming B&B in a delicious location. Photos by their talented son, fellow artist Christopher Johnson.
Tidewater Inn, Madison CT
Gotta love the Tidewater for sheer volume of photos submitted! Innkeeper Victoria Kolyvas went above and beyond in showing the Red Chair all the sights and sounds of this gorgeous area, and she blogged extensively about it on her own website. Here are the highlights, but for those who want to see more, check out the Tidewater Inn blog for all the details!
Miss Florence Griswold was the inspiration for the incredible impressionist movement in the Old Lyme, CT area and her spirit is honored at the Florence Griswold museum here on the banks of the beautiful Connecticut River. A visit to the coast of Connecticut is not complete without a stop here. Thanks Tidewater, for taking us there!
Check out the Shoreline Trolley Museum, and Visit New Haven for more great ideas about fun stuff in this area.

Life on a vineyard is filled with fun times, and the red chair was lucky to arrive just at harvest time! See the photos for all the fun that ensued during this lovely October visit at the Fitch Claremont House.
Inn at Harbor Hill Marina, Niantic, CT.
The Red Chair spent a few days in early October 2012, experiencing the sights and sounds of the Connecticut coastline at the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina. With easy access to the water from the B&B, the Red Chair lounged with friends, took a kayak ride up the Niantic River, explored nearby Mystic and was interviewed for TV news! A memorable trip indeed! From Mystic Seaport, to the Mystic Aquarium, to Mystic Pizza made famous by Julia Roberts first film, there was so much to see on the Coast of Connecticut.
