November 19, 2012 As we hurtle towards Thanksgiving, the Red Chair is holed up waiting for snow in Chesterfield New Hampshire, guest of the Chesterfield Inn. What a great spot to getaway from it all, hike the white mountains, discover a covered bridge, cozy up by the warm fire... all within close driving distance to the shops and fun of Brattleboro or Keene. Now I am really getting jealous of that damn chair! |

For those who have not yet visited, the Grafton Inn is one of the nation’s oldest operating inns, having been in business since 1801. With 45 rooms, the inn welcomes couples, families and is a wonderful location for Vermont country weddings and reunions. It is located in the heart of historic Grafton Village, known for it's delicious local cheese. |

Warren, VT In the shadow of Sugarbush, and the heart of the Mad River Valley, this is the time that one starts to sniff the air for snow, hoping and praying that ski season will come as it always does, and with it seeing your breath in the morning and the joy of long runs down the mountain on fresh powder. The Red Chair was lucky enough to tour the mountain before the crowds arrived, and enjoyed a few relaxing days at the West Hill House, a wonderful mountain B&B. |

The Red Chair was lucky to experience Norfolk and the Mountainview Inn in the fall, when the town square is at its' most charming. |

Life on the edge of Long Island Sound is sweet indeed, and staying at the Inn at Harbor Hill in Niantic, CT guarantees that you will experience the very best of it! Looking out over an inlet marina, with the ocean front beach in the distance and the fun of Mystic just up the road, Sue and Dave Labrie are so welcoming you will feel like you are visiting best friends. The Red Chair lived the high life here for a few wonderful days in late September, meeting belugas and being interviewed by NECN. A memorable stop indeed. |
