After a quick trip on route US 211, over the Massanutten Mountains, the Red Chair arrived at the Apple Blossom Inn of New Market, VA! A charming and quaint inn surrounded by the Shenandoah Valley, built in 1806, the Red Chair found it quite easy to feel right at home here, especially in the music room!

L'Auberge Provençale

Moving onto the 8th different state and 34th stop on the cross country journey the Red Chair has found itself at the L'Auberge Provençale Country Inn in White Post, Virginia!  The French country style and cuisine really impressed the Red Chair, and the best thing is Red didn't need a passport to get here!

The Red Chair made its way to the Asa Cline House Bed & Breakfast for some peace and quite in the beautiful WV countryside.  Not only did Red find plenty of rest and relaxation here but also many modern comforts, and 23 acres of forests, gardens and ponds for the Red Chair to explore!

Thomas Shepherd Inn
Shepherdstown, WV

The Red Chair Travels has made it to the 7th state featured in this cross country journey, West Virginia!  Located in the lower Shenandoah Valley along the Potomac River, the Thomas Shepherd Inn dates back to 1868 which served as parsonage for a local Lutheran Church. Red was thrilled to find another inn with such an interesting and unique history.  After wandering around and discovering the best of West Virginia, the Red Chair can finally say it completely agrees with John Denver's lyrics, "it's almost heaven, West Virginia."

Inn at Red Hill

Nestled in the woodlands of Elk Ridge, the Northern Extension of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, the Red Chair arrived at stop #31 on the cross country journey, The Inn at Red Hill.  This colonial style inn is rich in Civil War history while overlooking the Antietam National Battlefield.  The Red Chair could not wait to enjoy this peaceful retreat and experience the history of Keedysville, MD and surrounding areas!

Lightner Farmhouse B&B
Gettysburg, PA

The Red Chair has always wanted to go to Gettysburg ever since it was just a few pieces of wood.  With such an interesting history the Red Chair couldn't wait to stay at the Lightner Farmhouse B&B.  Built one year prior to the Battle of Gettysburg this house has stood through much of our American history.  What a cool place!

Located on the east of Carlisle, PA, the Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast sits among the country side providing casual country elegance as a historic brick farmhouse.  With an easy drive to many of the biggest hot spots of PA, but enough space to enjoy the peace and quiet the Red Chair was able to really enjoy the best of both worlds. Not to mention Red thought the 200+ year old barn was really interesting!

Tucked away on a beautiful horse farm just three miles north of Hershey, PA the Red Chair found the Inn at Westwynd Farm.  
Red enjoyed luxurious rooms, beautiful gardens, lovely country views, gourmet breakfasts, and comforting amenities!  Even though the Red Chair was quite content to stay right on the property, Innkeepers Frank and Carolyn convinced Red to venture out with them to experience all the other exciting activities, views and people the area had to offer.
