As the Red Chair arrived at the Stockade Bed and Breakfast of Baton Rouge, LA, Red knew it was in for an amazing time! This charming and elegant Hacienda-style B&B is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is quite different than the B&B's the Red Chair has stayed in so far. It is quite interesting how much everything changes the further you go from home, and right now the Red Chair is about 1,620 miles from its hometown of Woods Hole, MA!
Innkeeper Janice and her crew taught Red how to cook up some delicious Southern Louisiana cuisine, and they even caught it all on camera, you can watch below! Meeting so many new friends (just see the video of Red's welcome at the bottom of this entry) and making so many wonderful new memories, the Red Chair will miss Baton Rouge and the Stockade Bed and Breakfast but fear not! The Red Chair will return again someday.

The Red Chair has made it to New Orleans, Louisiana to visit the Innkeepers of the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast and also to visit the Innkeepers of Ashton's Bed and Breakfast! Both Inns along with the President of the Louisiana State Association, Janice Delerno, shared with the Red Chair some of the best that the area has to offer, which was quite a lot! Between both Inns the Red Chair spent five days wandering and discovering the beauty that captivates everyone that journeys to this amazing area. From riding the Street Car, to visiting the French Quarter, Haunted History Tours, to the St. Louis Cathedral, the Red Chair felt immersed into such a unique culture only found here in New Orleans.
The Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast was thrilled to get the Red Chair even more excited about Mardi Gras this year as they are located right on the big parade route. Too bad the Red Chair can't stay for the whole thing! But good news, the Red Chair has heard that if anyone else is looking for some last minute Mardi Gras plans (Feb 28th - March 4th) the Avenue Bed and Breakfast has some availability in that time frame. The Red Chair loved visiting and learning all about both Inns and also about New Orleans, Louisiana!
