Home to the Swift House Inn, Middlebury is a cosmopolitan village in the middle of the mountains. What better place to hole up and contemplate the 2012 elections? Away from the hustle bustle, with incredible landscapes and gardens plus trips into the shops of "town" -- this was a great getaway for the Red Chair!

When you are in the mountains, you want comfort, and this is exactly what Peter and Susan of the West Hill House will give you. Visit the alpacas, see the covered bridge, hang out with the cats, tour the ski resort, or just hike in the woods like the Red Chair did on this getaway. Round Barn Farm, Mad River Valley Vermont
October 28, 2012. As leaf-peeping comes to a close, and just before the winter snows hit, the Red Chair avoided Hurricane Sandy with a visit to the Inn at Round Barn Farm, an incredible property with a gorgeous round barn now used for weddings, events and gatherings of all kinds. The innkeepers took the chair to many of the area's highlights, including the State House! A fitting visit as the nation headed towards presidential elections.
