Samuel Durfee House
Newport, RI June 11-13th, 2013 The Red Chair felt so lucky to spend it's first few days with the Samuel Durfee House innkeepers Michael and Heather De Pinho in the beautiful scenic area of Newport, RI. While treating Red like royalty, they took Red all over Newport to show off some of the famous historical locations and scenic draw of the area. Red visited the Newport Harbor, the Trinity Church on Queen Anne's Square, Fort Adams, and downtown Newport with the famous Wave Statue. While the Red Chair was visiting the Castle Hill Lighthouse it decided to head over to the Castle Hill Lawn where it met a few new adirondack friends and spent the evening watching the sun go down. |
The Red chair ended its New England tour in Providence RI hosted by the Innkeepers from the Historic Jacob Hill Inn members of the Select Registry in nearby Seekonk, MA. Bill and Eleonora Rezek were more than happy to take the Red Chair on a tour of the many attractions of Providence, RI including the Historic East side with Brown University, RISD and Prospect Park, to the Capital Building and Federal Hill, Providence's "Little Italy" finally the Downtown Skating rink and ending the evening with a special viewing of the world renowned WaterFire!
