Bear Mountain Lodge in Bethlehem New Hampshire is a great spot for a February getaway! Especially with night photography expert Tim Little in tow, there is lots of fun to be had exploring the mountains in winter, especially with a log cabin as your coy home base!
Hoary frost on the grass this morning (November 19, 2012) at the Chesterfield Inn in Chesterfield, New Hampshire. You can almost see the Red Chair's breath in the crisp winter air! Looking forward to hot cocoa by the fire this afternoon, and maybe a little nap? Ahh, relaxation on the road, Red Chair style.

Life in Henniker New Hampshire is all about great food and great views. The proximity to several wonderful schools, like St Paul's and New England College, plus convenience to the State's capital (Concord) make it a great spot for a getaway or visit. Awards abound at this 14-room property, which is more like a small hotel with great amenities and an in-house restaurant. Colby Hill Inn has won the coveted Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year since 2003 as well as being selected as a Yankee Magazine Editor's Pick and a "Best of New Hampshire" recipient by New Hampshire Magazine! Wow, that's a treat for the Red Chair!!
Living on the edge of the White Mountain National Forest, innkeeper Ilya Chapman knows a thing or two about showing guests a great time in the mountains. Summer hikes, winter snowshoeing, fall leaf peeping and all-year-round excellent food and hospitality are what make a trip to the Adair Country Inn in Bethlehem, NH so special. The Red Chair enjoyed a special late fall stay, as you will see in the photos below.
Life in the mountains of New Hampshire is filled with fun and activities, says the Red Chair as she is dragged kicking and screaming from the Sunset Hill House near Franconia Notch. You can see more of the highlights of this stop right here. Or read all about the Red Chair's elopement here. With great hosts like Nancy Henderson (aka the happiest innkeeper in the world), you never know what kind of fun is in store.

Life at the Manor on Golden Pond is filled with the amenities of a small hotel, but the charm and personality of a classic B&B. Come here for a few days as the Red Chair did this week, and discover the quiet walks, charming small village and beautiful vista's over Squam Lake, made famous by the movie that inspired this naming of this B&B, "On Golden Pond."
Mid September is the perfect time to visit the Snowvillage Inn, a warm and inviting destination, set on the side of Foss Mountain, with breathtaking views of the Presidential Mountain Range. The Red Chair settled in and enjoyed a few days of fall respite in this gorgeous corner of the White Mountain range.
The 1785 Inn and Restaurant is two miles out of downtown North Conway, New Hampshire, a place cherished in ski season, revered in autumn and fun at any time of the year. At the 1785 Inn, the Red Chair got to take in the view which earned the inn a place on the list of the top 15 views in the world from an inn or hotel. The Red Chair enjoyed the extensive gardens, watching hummingbirds at the feeder and contemplating life looking out over the White Mountains which will be capped with snow in a short time. September is a great time to enjoy the quiet of New Hampshire!
The Inn at Thorn Hill is in Jackson, New Hampshire, where the chair stayed for a few days (September 5 - 7, 2012). The Red Chair wended it's way over the White Mountains to this extraordinary location, for a few days of relaxation, luxury and fun. Inn-tern (yes, that's an intern at an Inn:), Taavi Nagel actually hiked the chair on his back up a local peak and you can read all about the funny looks he got on the way right here!
Heading due west across the Maine-New Hampshire border in early September 2012, the chair finds itself in Shelburne, NH staying at the lovely Mt Washington B&B. With a host like Mary Ann, the chair made it up to the peak of Mt. Washington, and was seen hob-nobbing with other visitors to the Mt. Washington Auto Road! You can check out what happened that day on the Mt Washington Auto Road's Facebook page.
