Four-Legged, Red Guest Visiting Maine Inns
by Carolyn Callahan - August 14th 2012 06:02pm
Camden/Rockland - What's red and wooden and sat in all over? It has four legs and a tall back. " It could have been green or purple, but it was red," said Jim Ostrowski, co-owner of the Inns at Blackberry Common. It's not very old, but it's already quite the traveler. " It's already been on Cape Cod. It's gone through Rhode Island and in the Fall it's going to Vermont and New Hampshire," said Cyndi Ostrowski, co-owner of the Inns at Blackberry Common. For now, it's resting in Maine. " The red chair has become an honored guest," said Cyndi Ostrowski. The red chair is being passed between inns in New England. |
" It's kinda like the Flat Stanley of innkeepers," said Jim Ostrowski.
It's a simple chair, with an important mission. " It's all bed and breakfasts that are doing this and inns, so it's kinda showcasing that aspect of it too. That it's a fun way to travel, your innkeepers can show you a great time," explained Cyndi Ostrowski. The chair has been to Mount Battie and Cadillac Mountain in Maine. " It's taken a licking," laughed Jim Ostrowski. " Like any other weary traveler, it has got a few knicks and bruises but it's had a great time earning them along the way," added Cyndi Ostrowski. The trip isn't over just yet. Now, the chair is in Rockland, at another inn. " Gives us an opportunity to show red chair, along with that, show a greater universe what we're all about," said Frank Isganitis, owner of LimeRock Inn. It's all about the journey, and it's one that doesn't show any signs of taking a back seat |
