As soon as the sun was up Red was off to Tent Rocks National Monument for a hike up a slot canyon of volcanic ash to take in the spectacular scenery of this magical place called Santa Fe, NM. After getting stuck in the slot canyon for a short period of time, it was off to explore the cave among the spires. How beautiful and magnificent the nature made structures that surround you here are! Definitely a highlight of the Red Chair's stay at Sister Inns: El Farolito Bed & Breakfast and the Four Kachinas Inn.

Red visited the Menemsha Inn & Cottages for a few days to get a first hand experience of the Martha's Vineyard lifestyle. While getting plenty of rest and relaxation, Red also got in plenty of exercise by using the gym on site and a bike to get around the Menemsha area. It was only later that evening Red discovered how out of shape she was! (But not to worry! An outdoor shower on a beautiful day and a soft fluffy white towel can work wonders on a chair). Red had such a wonderful time visiting the Island of Martha's Vineyard and would love to go back soon! How many of you have heard of the Stockbridge family named Ffrench that make these wonderful silk-screened calendars every year? Well, I have long been a fan of these calendars, and have them always hanging in my front hall to delight me with their original art work. So imagine my shock this month when I turned over from February and found this! If there ever was a sign that now was the time to put the effort into my red chair travels project it was NOW! So, with out further adieu...the Red Chair begins it's Cape Cod trip in the month of March 2012. How very fitting.
