We all know how much the Red Chair LOVES to travel the world to see and experience new places but one of Reds favorite reasons for traveling is to create memories with new family and friends. From other furniture to our innkeepers families, the Red Chair loves them all and really enjoys spending quality time getting to know each new friend before it has to move on to the next stop. Above you can see the Red Chair enjoying the company of Charlie Sheerer, 7, Sophie Sheerer 4 months, Samantha Fegley, 5 and Cooper Fegley, 3; the four grandchildren of Innkeepers Pam and Dallas. We must say though, the Red Chair is terrible at hide and seek..

The Red Chair Travels is taking the political world by storm.. well not really but Red can dream can't it? The Red Chair was able to visit the Pennsylvania Capitol Building which houses both the House of Representatives and also the Senate. What an amazing opportunity to see such a beautiful and historical building that is so important to the past, present and future of our very nation. Want to visit too? Check out the PA Capitol Building website for tour information. Thank you to everyone who made the Red Chair visiting the Capitol Building possible, it is such a memorable moment for the Chair. Now it is onto Red Chair for President! We will just have to work on a catchy slogan... The Red Chair Travels found an oasis in the extensive gardens surrounding the Swiss Woods Bed and Breakfast Inn. The gardens were such a fantastic place to wander and connect with nature the Red Chair had to just have a seat and write in the traveling journal. With tucked away benches for romantic privacy and hammocks strung between trees that are perfect for an afternoon nap, the Red Chair spent quite a bit of time here. All of the various butterflies and birds add an extra special touch to the beautiful grounds of the Swiss Woods Bed and Breakfast Inn. Such a fantastic place to relax all year round! The Red Chair Travels has been all over always experiencing new places, people and all kinds of adventures! We love how all of our innkeepers are enjoying the Red Chair Travels project and coming together to best represent our industry and all of our local communities. In the above picture you see some of the innkeepers of the Lancaster County region posing with our beloved Red Chair. From left to right we have Janis & Ann Innkeepers of the King's Cottage Bed and Breakfast, Pam Innkeeper of the B. F. Hiestand House Bed and Breakfast, Rebecca Gallagher Innkeeper of the Historic Smithton Inn, and Jan Innkeeper of the Artist's Inn and Gallery. Innkeeper Debbie of the Swiss Woods Inn is unfortunately missing from this group but was also a wonderful host to the Red Chair during its visit to the exciting Lancaster County!
Time after time we find that the Red Chair has provided all of us a sense of discovery, excitement and meaning in its travels, and we don't even have to leave our homes! We have seen Red on the top of a mountain, on the edge of rivers, standing along side all kinds of friends, family and so much more. We find that the Red Chair has stumbled into another treasured experience allowing a pack of Speedwell Wolves into this unique project. The Red Chair was able to meet some of these wolves and spend the day learning about these majestic creatures. As a 100% donation based, non profit operation the Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania "provides refuge for those wolves who have found themselves without a place in the natural world." It was such a wonderful experience and the Red Chair Travels highly recommends it to anyone visiting the area. Be sure to check out their website where you can see pictures of all of the wolves within the sanctuary too! There are almost 1000 acres of gardens at Longwood and Red could not believe that this was just one small part!! Red was ever impressed with the noon fountain show at Longwood Gardens, but very disappointed that he would not be able to see the night show with music and lights, because it happened past his bedtime. Besides the beautiful grounds be sure to check out all of the exciting events at the Longwood gardens including the fireworks and fountain shows which is quite a fan favorite! |
