The Red Chair aims to be the center of attention every where it goes but once Red realized it would have to play music, it decided to leave that up to the professionals.  That evening Red was able to enjoy the performances at the Infinity Hall, a little Rock and Roll never hurt any one.

Not only was Infinity Hall close by to the Rock Hall Luxe but also close by was the Battell Stoeckel Estate, home of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and Yale Summer School of Music!  
The Red Chair gained musical confidence and was even assisting Innkeeper Michael on the piano at the end of the stay!  We thank you Rock Hall Luxe for inspiring the Red Chair to expand it's knowledge of music and culture!  Maybe in the future Red will come out with a hit single...

The Red Chair got in on some late fall foliage in Norfolk, CT when it visited the Mountain View Inn. Norfolk is known as the "best small town in Connecticut" with over 80% of the land forever preserved, Yale University's world-class Chamber Music Festival, Infinity Hall of Music and award-winning Library as well as renowned Historical Society.

The Red Chair was particularly impressed that the town created a sign suggesting that cars slow when chairs crossed at the crosswalk.  That’s called rolling out the Red Carpet!

Innkeeping is hard work, and when you read Victoria Kolyvas three blog entries about her time with the Red Chair (all of them posted after 10 pm DAILY), you will be stunned by her energy and enthusiasm.  She is pictured above, at the "handoff" where innkeeper Nora Strong of the Fitch Claremont B&B is passing the Red Chair baton to Victoria. 

Now, to summarize the stunning three days at the Tidewater... There are so many things to do and see, this is really a partial list but here goes:

Tour the Florence Griswald Museum...birthplace of an important era in American Impressionism.

Don't miss the Wee Faerie Village open this month, and the extensive gardens along the Lieutenant River.

Ride the Shoreline Trolley at the East New Haven Shoreline Trolley Museum, and while you are at it, check out up-to-the-minute listings about whats going in in New Haven at VisitNewHaven.com.

Grab an authentic lobster roll at Lobster Landing in Clinton, CT.

Hop a river ferry to visit Gillette Castle, the ultimate "man cave" of the past!

Gillette Castle is a pretty cool spot with incredible views over the river.

Wander the beach at Meigs Point Nature Center, and don't miss the birdhouses.

Visit the Henry Whitfield house, and learn more about one of the earliest structures on American soil, fortunately preserved today as this interesting museum.

Tired yet?  Return to the Tidewater Inn for much needed rest and relaxation!  And thank Victoria for her lovely breakfast, and so many great tips about what to see and do in her area!   The Red Chair enjoyed this visit!
