The Red Chair modeled for students from the Laguna Outreach for Community Arts (LOCA) on the grounds of Laguna Nursery -- arranged with the assistance of the LOCA director Mike Tauber, Laguna Nursery owner Ruben Flores, and Ashley Johnson from Visit Laguna Beach. The class members had a blast doing watercolors of Red and didn't want to let Red go. Red loved the challenge of sitting still for so long and would totally do it again!

The Red Chair Travels received nothing less than royal treatment from the entire town of Coronado, CA. From the amazing staff at the 1906 Lodge at Coronado Beach all the way to the local residents and visitors Red met while out and about in the surrounding area. With so many kind and interesting people all around it was nearly impossible to say good bye to such a captivating atmosphere. When it did come time for the Red Chair to move on to the next beautiful destination, Red's wonderful hosts are all about the pampering and provided Red with one of the most rejuvenating Spring-cleanings it has ever had! The Red Chair felt more than ready to greet the next leg of the journey. After a delicious breakfast at the Strawberry Creek Inn Bed and Breakfast, the Red Chair decided to head back into town where it ran into a couple of very interesting Pacific Crest Trailhikers. Red learned all about this 2,650 mile trail that runs from Canada to Mexico across some of the most beautiful landscapes imaginable (including the area in and around Idyllwild). Hikers would often quit their jobs, give up their housing, and spend six months or so of their lives completing the trail. The Red Chair can definitely relate to that. This is one lucky chair! Red was just spoiled by the Innkeepers of the Inn at Europa Village for the past few days, and of course Red was loving every second of it! A signature feature of this amazing Inn is Innkeeper and Executive Chef Dean Thomas. Every morning Chef Dean takes his guests on an international breakfast "experience" as well as cooking for all dinner or special events that the winery hosts. Red says this is one special touch you just have to experience for yourself! |
