The next stop was the Franklin Mineral Museum where Red was in for a treat. This museum displays several types of phosphorescent minerals that are found in Sussex County (the biggest variety in any county in the United States). Red was not terribly impressed with the rocks on display until the black light came on. What an amazing surprise! Thank you Wooden Duck Bed & Breakfast for showing the Red Chair some truly unique experiences!
The Red Chair got to visit the Sterling Hill Mining Museum in Ogdensburg, where Red learned all about zinc mining. It was really interesting but it also provided a great break from the 90 degree heat, the 56 degrees in the mine felt wonderful! As Red was leaving it noticed a bunch of classic cars in the parking lot, turns out the owners of the classic cars were taking a tour of the mines as well!
