The Red Chair returned to Woods Hole a few days ago, and low and behold it snowed as if on cue. Snow is rare here, because we are so surrounded by the warm Gulf Stream waters, but last night we got a nice dusting and here is a quick photo essay of a Woods Hole walk in the snow. Pie in the Sky is right next door to the Woods Hole Inn, so of course the Red Chair enjoyed a hot coffee and freshly baked pastry before heading out in the cold... Happy children were sledding on the golf course and the Red Chair could hear their squeals of delight. With the wind blowing hard from the north, the Red Chair was knocked over flat by the gusts while this picture was taken. Brrr.... Not too many fishermen out today. From the porch of Crowell House (a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute aka WHOI building) you can see across the village green with the peaked roof of the Woods Hole Inn in the distance.
