Saying Goodbye

I felt like a mother preparing her child for camp today.  I bustled about making sure that everything was in order.  The chair is a bit old and rickety, and I don't want any stray pieces to fall off on the way.  I wrote a nice note to my fellow innkeepers, like a proper care and feeding of the chair document, and then I packed it up in my car and drove it to the Belfry Inn in Sandwich.

There has been so much planning and anticipation for this journey,  I really was feeling a bit anxious saying goodbye!  Chris, the innkeeper at the Belfry told me he would not be home until six and that it was fine to leave it at the side door, but I actually had a pang of nervousness as if, perhaps thousands had read this blog and someone might recognize the chair as the celebrity that it is and run off with it.  I know, crazy. 

It was a perfect day for a drive across the island we call Cape Cod, and the sun was shining brightly as I pulled up 30 minutes later in front of the lovely Belfry Inn.  I found a good hiding spot around the side just like Chris told me, then I lingered a bit enjoying the gardens and shops nearby.
